Wieslawa "Viesha" M. Wadowski

WORCESTER: Wieslawa “Viesha” M. Wadowski, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 2, at UMass Memorial Healthcare Alliance Hospital in Leominster after an extended illness.
   She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years Joseph R. Wadowski in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Susan, beloved granddaughter Teagan and her daughter-in-law and close friend Tammie of Worcester, sister-in-law Eleanor Richer of Cherry Valley and several nieces and nephews and their children. She was also preceded in death by infant daughter Diana Wadowski (1972), as well as two sisters Irene Grzybowski and Freda Lota.
  Viesha was born in Bialystok, Poland to Jan and Olympia Suchocka.  She came over to the United States, to Worcester in March of 1971, where she married Joe and they began their family.  Throughout her life, she took great pride in her Polish heritage and faithfully upheld Polish traditions especially around the holidays. Viesha worked in the retail industry for over 30 years in clerical roles to upper management, and eventually retired from BJ’s Wholesale Club in 2017. She had a great passion for being outdoors, gardening, flowers, home decorating and cooking. Her happiest moments were spent with her family at York Beach Maine, where she enjoyed the beach and lobster tremendously. She also loved frequent visits to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill with Susan and Teagan where they would go on hikes, take classes and enjoy nature. Above all else, being a grandmother brought her unparalleled joy; she adored her granddaughter Teagan.
   A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home located at 61 Myrtle Street in Worcester. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, January 11th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church on 34 Ward Street in Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester.
    The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the tremendous medical staff and nursing teams at the Extended Care Unit and Critical Care Unit in UMass Memorial Healthcare Alliance Hospital in Leominster.
