A precious one from us has gone, a voice we loved is stilled: A place is vacant in our home, which can never be filled, He will not be forgotten, though on earth he is no more, his memory will always be as before.
Wilbert Lee Bates, Sr was born on September 16, 1941, in Verbena, AL. He was the son late Sanford Bates, Sr. and late Bertha Mae Sutton. He departed this life on January 16, 2022,at the age of 80 years old, to be with Lord.
He was preceded to death by his wife Pearline Bates son Kevyn Bates, Brothers Willie Lee Sutton, Roosevelt Roberts Jr, wife (Annie) and sister Rosa Mae Bates Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories; a very loving, caring devoted son Wilbert Bates, Jr. wife (Muriel) of Ludowici, GA ; son Andrew Bates, Sr. wife (Diane) of Montgomery, AL ; daughter Evette Bates of Miami, FL ; son and daughter Wilber Tina, and Ricky Martin brother Sanford Bates Jr. Greg Bates wife (Felicia) and sisters Bessie Mae Taylor, Mary Bates Tyson and Deidretta Bates along with 3 other sibling all from the Montgomery, AL Area and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Ex wife Gloria Bates mother of his children and friends
Mr. Wilbert Lee Bates Sr. faithfully served Christ through ministry and deaconship most of his adult life. He also proudly served our country both domestically and abroad in the United States Army. Mr. Wilbert Lee Bates Sr. was loved by many and left an impact on our lives that we will forever cherish.
