Wilbur Anthony "Tony" Moore, 86, of Nokomis, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Springfield, IL, on October 9, 1939, a son of William Paul and Anna Mae (Newell) Moore. He was a member of the graduating class of 1958 from Hillsboro High School. Wilbur was a veteran of the United States Army and held memberships in the United Methodist Church of Coffeen and Masonic Lodge #51. He was employed as a coal miner at the Coffeen Mine, a jailer at the Montgomery County Jail, and as a farmer. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed being outdoors gardening and working in the yard.

Wilbur is survived by:

His sons, Kenny (companion Jamie) Moore, Phil (Mary Jo) Moore, Glenn (Trina) Moore and Wade Moore

His grandchildren, Aaron Moore, Mindy (John) Bargielski, and Annie (Jason) Barrington

His great grandchildren, Ross, Ruby, Morgan and Mason

His siblings, Paula (Gene) Redman, Linda Raines, Jim (Barbara) Moore, and Joyce (Gary) Zerrusen

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Moore, a brother, Larry Moore, a brother-in-law Bob Raines, and a special companion, Sharon Clark.

Funeral services for Wilbur will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, a Coffeen United Methodist Church. Rev. Kathy Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shiloh Cemetery in Coffeen or Shriners Hospital for Children.

My thoughts and prayers are with Tony´s family now and in the days to come. May you feel the loving arms of our Precious Jesus supporting you. Tony was a classmate of mine in Ashland, Il. Tony and Sharon was there for me when my husband passed and included me in lots of activities with them. Sending hugs and love to all of you.
