Wilbur Dale Schrecongost, 84, of Dale City, passed away on February 28 th,
2025.
Dale was born in Ohio to Virginia Kretzler on September 13, 1940. He went
to school at Parsons High School. He married Marilyn Halchak on May
29th, 1962 in Arlington Va.
Dale was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker
and a great supervisor on the construction site, in his backyard and on The
Looney Farm.
He put up a brave fight against a very aggressive form of blood cancer,
MDS. His strength, courage, and determination over 5 years and especially
the past few weeks have been nothing short of incredible. He was known for
his deep love and support of his family, his strong will and determination,
and his desire to preserve his neighborhood. He was so proud of his sons and
always said that they took after their mother not him. He had a gruff exterior
but his heart was pure gold.
He loved going places with his beloved dog, Alaine, whom he loved dearly.
He also loved his 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He loved his 2
daughter-in-law's that were the daughters that he never had.
Dale is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Kretzler, and his wife,
Marilyn Halchak Schrecongost.
Dale is survived by Myron and Tina Schrecongost, Stephen and Sandra
Schrecongost, his beloved dog, Alane, grandchildren, David and Krista
Schrecongost, Nicholas Schrecongost and Ali Matossian, Jeremy and Tori
Schrecongost, Courtney and Matt Blickley, great grandchildren, Adelaide
Schrecongost, Raegan Blickley, Landon Blickley, Camryn Blickley, Hayden
Blickley, Brothers Harvey and his wife Jenny Schrecongost, Steve and his wife Roberta (Winks) (deceased) Schrecongost, special friend and neighbor, Deanna Young. Special thanks to Tina
& Clark Melillo.
