It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Ubrich, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on November 28, 2025. Born in Ghent, New York, Paul lived the majority of his life in Texas.

Paul dedicated 37 years of his career to the oil and energy industry, beginning his journey with Shell in 1987 and officially retiring October 31, 2024. A significant part of his career involved working with resin used in the construction of wind turbines, a role that reflected his passion for innovation and sustainability. Throughout his tenure, he worked at various levels, showcasing an unwavering commitment and expertise in his field.

Paul served honorably in the United States Air Force, during which time he honed his skills working on aircraft in both Texas and Arizona. His passion for craftsmanship extended beyond his service; he found immense joy in his woodworking workshop, where he dedicated countless hours to building and creating. Paul also had a deep love for automobiles, always eager to share his knowledge and offer advice to anyone in need. Home improvement projects and acts of service marked Paul's life, as he readily volunteered to help friends and family with their endeavors. He was known as the go-to guy, always available at a moment's notice to lend a hand or offer a kind word. Paul cherished spending time with his family, forging memories during travel and special gatherings, always putting his loved ones at the forefront of his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kerry Ubrich, for an incredible 43 years of marriage and his three daughters: Amanda Morrow, married to Dusty Morrow, with two granddaughters, Melanie (20) and McKayla (17); Shelby Morton, married to Daniel Morton, who gave him two grandsons, Nolan (4) and Liam (2); and Kelsey Sanders, married to Ben Sanders, who blessed him with two grandsons, Oliver (6) and Charlie (2); Paul is also survived by his brother, Edwin Taylor, and his beloved mother, Ann Ubrich-Taylor.

He was preceded in death by Charles Fredrick Luft in 2019, Patricia Mary Luft in 2003 and Karl Fredrick Luft in 2014.

Paul's legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering support will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who knew him. His spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness. A celebration of Paul's life will take place at Schmidt Funeral Home, situated at 1344 W Grand Parkway South, Katy, TX, 77494, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 4 PM CST. Family and friends are welcome to join in sharing memories and honoring a remarkable man who enriched the lives of those around him.
