Wiley Grantham III, or Sonny as some called him died on June 9, 2025 in the hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Wiley was a resident of Lake City for the last 5 years, but Wiley was born March 17, 1955 in Ft. Lauderdale FL. His mother was Mary Pearl Rankin and father was Wiley Grantham II. Wiley grew up in South Florida, but finished high school in Live Oak at Suwannee High School. Anyone who met Wiley would describe him as kind, well spoken, intelligent, hardworking, loyal, and loving. Wiley had a love for movies and music that he instilled in his children, who will to this day continue to quote movies and start spontaneous karaoke. Wiley was a roofer and painter by trade, but was always willing to help others when they needed the odd job done. He was a man of many words, but he was loved by many and will be missed. On Saturday, February 16th 1980 Wiley and Vanessa were married. They were wed for 45 magical years and had three wonderful children Jeremiah, Mary, and Eli. Beloved by his 8 grandchildren, Jade, Lily, Josephine, Mason, Verity, PJ, Stone and Benji.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 14th at First Advent Christian Church and the service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Tim Carver officiating. Interment will take place in Live Oak Cemetery.
