Wiley Calvin Gray, born on August 17, 1941, in Columbus, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on December 11, 2025, in his beloved hometown. He was a dedicated member of community who touched many lives through both his professional endeavors and personal interactions.
With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Wiley dedicated 33 years to working with AT&T. His contributions to the telecommunications industry earned him respect among peers and customers alike. He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers and served as a representative on the CWA Counsel, highlighting his commitment to his profession and his fellow workers. Additionally, Wiley was an active member of the East Columbus Lions Club and Living Grace Church, where he fulfilled the vital role of facilities manager, ensuring that the church community thrived.
Wiley is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Gray Morgan (Garris) of Columbus, Georgia, and Tiffany Gray Calhoun (Scott) of Marietta, Georgia. He found joy in the laughter and milestones of his grandchildren, Kyle Morgan, Avery Morgan, Helen Calhoun, and Emma Calhoun, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Peggy Joyce Gray, who played an irreplaceable role in his life, as well as his parents, Arthur Lee and Emma Augusta Armstrong Gray, and his sister, Sandra Leathers. These relationships shaped Wiley into the remarkable individual he was, instilling in him the values of love, dedication, and service to others.
The life of Wiley Calvin Gray will be honored with a funeral service on December 15, 2025, at Living Grace Church, located at 3969 Edgewood Circle, Columbus, Georgia. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, with an opportunity for friends and family to reflect on his life and share cherished memories.
Wiley will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, community service, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Methodist Children's Home in memory of Wiley Calvin Gray.
