Wilfred Thomas Shifflett

Wilfred Thomas Shifflett, Sr., 84, of Elkton, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Sentara RMH Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1941 in Harrisonburg to the late William Taft and Julie Helen Morris Shifflett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanford Shifflett, Perry Shifflett, Madeline Shifflett, Betty Shifflett; step-father, George Shifflett and step-brother, David Shifflett.
He grew up near Elkton and loved playing and listening to Blue Grass music. He enjoyed dining out with his family and attending Blue Grass music events. He retired from Conagra in Crozet with many years of service, and worked for Albemarle County Schools after his retirement.
Mr. Shifflett is survived by his children, Wilfred T. "Tommy" Shifflett, Jr. and wife, Deana, Robert "Bobby" Shifflett and wife, Sharon, Carolyn Viar and husband, Mike, Maryann Blair and husband, David; brother, William Shifflett; sisters, Frances Moubray, Beatrice Williams (his twin), step-brothers, Joseph "Joe" Shifflett, Charles "Charlie" Shifflett; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; step-sister-in-law, Nancy Shifflett.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
