Wilfred "Wolf" Red Tomahawk Sr., 66, Fort Yates, made his journey home on Friday, October 14, 2022. Prayer service is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a Rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM at DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Porcupine Community Center, Porcupine, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion officiating. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the Porcupine Community Center. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, Porcupine, ND.
Wolf was born December 21, 1955, at Fort Yates, to Peter and Edna (Windy) Red Tomahawk. He attended grade school and junior high at Pierre Indian Learning Center, Pierre, SD and Wachter Middle School, Bismarck, ND. He graduated from Standing Rock High School in 1975. He continued his education and received his Carpentry Certificate at Dakota Western Technology School located in Sturgis, SD. Wolf was a natural athlete and played football, basketball and softball. He loved fishing, hunting, and cooking. He connected with every person he met and willing to give a helping hand to anyone. He was a very generous man. Wolf worked with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe as a Compliance Officer with Tribal Employment Rights Office for over 20 years. He helped so many people find employment. Wolf had a good work ethic and loved what he did. He enjoyed working in the Construction Industry. Wolf was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved his cat, Angel. Wolf was also a very good storyteller.
Wolf was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ernestine Huravitch, Brenda Red Tomahawk; Grandpa Bill Little Bird; nieces, Nicole Red Tomahawk, Leila Red Tomahawk, Candace Wagner, and Marissa Iron Road; and nephews, Joseph Red Tomahawk, Norris Red Tomahawk, and Wesley Huravitch.
