Willa "Faith" Cornett

Willa Faith Gibson Cornett, 65, of Bluewell, WV, gained her Angel Wings on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at her home. 

Born on October 12, 1958, in Bluefield, WV, she was a daughter of Shirley Walker Gibson and the late Randy Gibson. She had been a resident of Bramwell/Bluewell for most of her life. Faith loved each and every one of us so much, her heart was made of gold. She loved going to the beach, having family cookouts, making her famous potato salad, and being with her mother. She loved her animals, Casper and Cowboy. 

Survivors include her husband, Jeffery Cornett of Durham, NC; mother, Shirley Gibson of Bramwell, WV; brother, Randyl (Sabrina) Gibson; daughter Jamie (Elbert) Jenkins of Bastian, VA; son Travis (Taylor) Proffitt, of FL; grandchildren, Austin (Kalina) Jenkins of Bluefield, WV, Keenan (Cassie) Jenkins of Rural Retreat, VA, Lexi Proffitt of FL, Jacob Proffitt of WV; great grandchildren, who all had nicknames from Faith, Carter (Carter Carter) Jenkins, Rhowan (Baby Rhowan) Jenkins, Keylan (TaDa) Jenkins, and Lexi (Lexi Lou her Little Princess) Proffitt; bestie and cousin Shirley Ann Bogart; special aunt Diasy (Susie) Walker; one nephew, one niece, numerous cousins, one great nephew, and two great nieces. 

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Bogart officiating. Friends may call an hour prior to services from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
