Willene Griffin

Willene Griffin was born on April 22, 1944, to the late Martha Jones and Willard Griffin. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Camden South Carolina. She transition from this life on April 13, 2023.
Willene received her formal education in the Kershaw County Public School System. She was a faithful member of Sanders Creek Baptist Church. She work with Kershaw County Antioch Head Start for 43 years before retiring. Willene loved spending time with her family, cooking and travel to New York to visit her sisters, brothers, and other relatives.
Willene was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Jones and Willard Griffin; her sisters, Patricia Jones and Roslyn Jones and a brother, Joseph Jones.
Cherishing her beloved memory are her son, Harold (Ramana) Griffin of Waldorf, Maryland; her daughter, Shakeema (Darryl) Halley of Camden, South Carolina; three sisters, Shirley Jones, Debbie Jones and Paulette Jones and one brother, Tyrone (Susan) Jones all of Brooklyn, New York; seven grandchildren, Shyonte' (Tevin) Copeland, Nadea' Allen, Keimaari Griffin, Zykeria Halley, Keilan Alexander, X'Zorrea' Halley and Jordyn Griffin; three great-grandchildren, Madeline Allen-Waddy, McKinley Copeland and Kairo Copeland; two special cousins (sisters), Bessie (Gene) McIntyre of Wilmington, North Carolina and Barbara Richards of Brooklyn, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
