Willia Mae Franklin

Willia Mae Franklin, 93, of Lake Toxaway, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 after a lengthy illness. A native of Jackson County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Gracie Matthis Nicholson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Dale Franklin as well as 7 siblings and 2 grandchildren.

A gifted and loving homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family and others. She was talented at drawing, painting and poetry. She enjoyed singing with her sisters, playing guitar and being very active in her church, Faith Assembly of God in Brevard, where she had been a charter member. She taught Sunday School and truly loved the Lord.

Her loving survivors include her children: Tim Morgan (Penny), Gill Morgan (Judy), Randy Morgan and Marsha Morgan; her sister Eunice Guffy and 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Willia Franklin will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Whitmire Cemetery of Flat Creek Valley Road in lake Toxaway with Rev. Ricky Lee officiating.
