He was born on September 26, 1982 in Granite City, IL, a loving son to Earl and Sandra (nee: Johnson) Abney.
He is a loving father and brother who enjoyed flower gardening and working out. He was a family oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his children. William also loved the outdoors and fishing. He was a horror movie enthusiast. William was a very religious man whom knew "The Word" well.
William is survived by 2 daughters: Molly Abney of Wood River, IL and Sandra Abney of Granite City, IL; 4 sons: William Abney, Jr of Granite City, Clarence Abney of Granite City, Mertice Abney of Granite City and Malachi Abney of Granite City; 2 brothers: Stephen Abney of Sauget, IL and Terry Carr of St. Louis, MO and 3 sisters: Rachel Abney of Caseyville, IL, Rebecca White of Granite City and Tina Lovsey of Gillespie, IL.
William is preceded in death by his parents and several extended family members.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
