It is with deep sadness that I received the news of the passing of Bill Albritton our colleague and friend, whose life was defined by integrity, principle, and a profound commitment to others. As a steadfast supporter during my time as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan, he encouraged my initiatives and stood as a true partner in advancing our shared goals. His advocacy for diversity and inclusion was unwavering, and he consistently worked to ensure that every voice was heard and valued.
Beyond his professional contributions, he was a humane and compassionate individual who touched countless lives with kindness, wisdom, and generosity of spirit. His absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Betty, Erin, Ben, and the entire family. May the love and respect he inspired in so many bring you comfort during this difficult time. Bill will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives he enriched.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Bill's recent passing. Pat and I knew the entire family from our shared time in Saskatoon. Both of us have fond memories of Bill and Betty as a lovely couple. I started my career in infectious diseases in Saskatoon when Bill was the Department Head of Microbiology and Immunology and it was such a fun and exciting time for everyone during those years. Bill had a major influence on my early career in guiding my research and teaching activities for which I remain deeply appreciative. It was an honour and a privilege to know Bill over the years and including his years as Dean in Saskatoon. He was a true example of a scholar and a gentleman and we wish to express our heartfelt sympathies to Betty, Ben and Erin.
With deepest condolences

I was shocked to learn this sad news. My headship (2003-2008) in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Saskatchewan overlapped with his Deanship, and I received tremendous support from him during and after this period. Without his encouragement and guidance, I would have not taken over the position and sailed through the difficult time, as the department had been down to six faculty members and faced to be dissolved otherwise. Bill's leadership in the College of Medicine will be remembered, and his life will be celebrated forever!

I am saddened to learn of this news. I have very vivid memory of Bill as he just started as Dean of Medicine and talked to every faculty member. It was obvious he had that southern charm as I had been in Alabama for three and half years. He'll be missed.

I am so saddened to learn of Bill's death. My deepest condolences to his family. I appreciated Bill's counsel when he was Dean of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and learned to smile at that deep Southern accent as he wandered in the halls of our department. Sail on, Bill. Safe passage. Roger

I was one of the many University of Saskatchewan medical students whose life and career was shaped by Dr Albritton. I am thankful to have crossed paths with him and appreciative of his deep commitment to social accountability and health advocacy. Medical education in Saskatchewan has been much enriched by Bill´s time and contributions here. Love and condolences to Betty, their kids, extended family and friends.

Meeting Bill as a young faculty member was such a privilege. He listened, validated my concerns and helped me feel welcome in the college of medicine. He will be missed. Betty and Bill showed my friends the Obayan´s unconditional love. Witnessing that was a joy and encouragement. Praying for comfort for all who survived Bill. Mansfield
