William Harold Atkinson

Mr. William Harold
Atkinson, age 92, of Toc-
coa, passed away Monday,
Dec. 22, 2025 at his home.
Born March 6, 1933, in
Franklin County, Georgia,
he was the son of the late
Will T. and Hattie An-
drews Atkinson.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his first wife of 54
years, Belle Landry Atkin-
son. After Belle died in
2011, he met Shelby
Crooks in 2012 and they
later married in 2019.
Harold retired from
Lawson Motor Company,
where he worked for 40
years. He was a member of
the First Baptist Church of
Toccoa, and was a member
of the Adult 3 Sunday
School Class. He was a
United States Air Force
veteran who served in the
Korean War. He was a
member of the VFW Toc-
coa Lodge 4346, the Toccoa
Masonic Lodge, the E. L.
McConnell Council 40, the
Royal Arch Mason 21, the
Shriners Hospital (Crown of Honor
Point), the Commandry 33,
the Order of the Eastern
Stars 2947, the Toccoa Elks
Lodge 1820, and the Toccoa
Lions Club.
Family members in-
clude his wife, Shelby
Crooks Atkinson; daugh-
ters, Pam Williams, of
Spartanburg, S.C., and Pat
Edwards (Chad), of New-
nan, Ga.; step-daughter,
Sherry Bradley (Jack);
grandchildren, Hayli
Evans, Connor Edwards,
Payton Edwards (Savan-
nah) and Madison Ed-
wards; step-grandchil-
dren, Chris, Clay (Jen-
nifer) and Candice.
The family will receive
friends at the mortuary
from 12-1:30 p.m. Satur-
day, Dec. 27, 2025.
Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Saturday,
Dec. 27, 2025 at the First
Baptist Church of Toccoa
with the Rev. David Ritcey
officiating.
Burial will follow at
Stephens Memorial Gar-
dens.
The following gentle-
men will serve as pallbear-
ers: Billy Lawson, Stacey
Gunn, Jack Bradley, Chad
Edwards, Payton Edwards
and Connor Edwards. The
Adult 3 Sunday School
Class will serve as hon-
orary pallbearers.
