Austin, William Clinton (Bill), age 83 of Knoxville, passed away at home on February 27 2013. He was born in Boston, MA, and spent his younger years in New England before settling with his family in Knoxville. Bill was a graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School, and attended St. Bernard College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from Rohm and Haas after 37 years of employment. He devoted his life to his family with whom he shared his enthusiasm for sports, fishing, and beach vacations at Pawley's Island, SC. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Martha Driscoll Austin; parents, Charles C. and Florence Austin; sisters, Jeanne Austin Gray and Jacqueline Austin; granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Carroll. Survived by his children and their spouses, Anne Austin Carroll of Chattanooga, Elizabeth and Ritchie Case of Knoxville, William C., Jr., and Christine Austin of Trumbull, CT, Neil and Tracy Austin of Ormond Beach, FL, Jane Austin of Knoxville Jacqueline Russell of Nashville, and Kristen Austin of Greenville, SC; brother, Father Gerard (Neil) Austin, O.P., of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Kristen Carroll, Graham and Lin Case, Michael Case, Ashley and Leanne Austin, and Jennafer and Melody Russell; great-grandchildren, J.T., Lyndsey, and Kaleigh Loden, and Carter and Patricia Case. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 5, 2013, 1:30 p.m., at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Gerard Austin and Father Ragan Schriver officiating; interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday with a Christian Prayer Service to follow at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. On-line condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
