William Peter Bacha, Sr., age 83, of Oxford, formerly of Seymour, the beloved husband of 58 years to Mary Anne Felice Bacha, entered into eternal rest at his home on January 31, 2011. He was born in Ansonia on January 14, 1928, beloved son of the late George and Margaret Dapkunas Bacha. He was a retired foreman with the New Haven Copper Company of Seymour, where he had been employed for 40 years. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and also served in the Merchant Marines prior to entering the US Army. Bill was a devout communicant and Eucharistic Minister at the Church of the Good Shepherd of Seymour. He enjoyed building model airplanes and making rosaries, and was an avid UCONN Basketball fan. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. His loving family, in addition to his beloved wife Mary, includes his caring sons, William P. Bacha, Jr. and his wife Christine of Durham, Thomas R. Bacha and his wife Debra of Naugatuck and Ronald J. Bacha of Seymour; his devoted daughter, Nancyjo Auscavitch and her husband, Jay of Oxford, with whom he made his home; his six cherished grandchildren, Gregory Cesaroni, Mark Cesaroni, Christopher Bacha, Jessica Auscavitch, Kathleen Bacha and Michelle Bacha and his two cherished great grandchildren, Ryan Laskowski and Summer Cesaroni. He was predeceased by three beloved brothers, Edward, George and Donald Bacha. A Funeral Service in Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 9:00 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 260 Bank Street (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village) Seymour, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Interment, with Military Honors accorded, will be in the family plot at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends and relatives may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Bill’s memory may be made to The Church of the Good Shepherd Improvement Fund, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour, CT 06483 or through the Funeral Director.
