William A. Bauernschmidt

William A. "Bill" Bauernschmidt, 79, of West Chester, passed away on February 21, 2016. Born in Sharon Hill in 1936, he was the son of the late A. William and Nellie Mae (nee Zap) Bauernschmidt. Bill served honorably in the US Army in Korea. He worked 35 years for Sun Oil Company as Property and Excise Tax Manager, First National Bank as Fiduciary Mgr., and as Comptroller for Thomas F. Gowen & Sons for 18 years. Bill was an avid boater on the Chesapeake Bay. Bill was the beloved husband of Dolores (nee Herninko); the loving father of Jeffrey William and Kimberly M. Gallagher (Joseph); the grandfather of Joseph Gallagher, Jr., Jason Gallagher, Jessica Bauernschmidt, Laura Bauernschmidt, and Eric Gallagher; and brother, Robert (Fair) and sister, Beverly French Taylor (Bill).
