William Beckner Obituary William "Bill" Robert Beckner, 49, of Pataskala, passed away Friday (January 24, 2025) as the result of an auto accident.
He was born January 27, 1975 in Cambridge, son of Delbert "Tom" Beckner and Gerry (Long) Beckner.
A 1993 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, Bill had worked for the past four years as a commercial parts manager at Auto Zone. He also had worked in the security department at the Columbus Zoo for ten years. Bill cherished his time working at the zoo and enjoyed all the animals.
He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, especially of the football team. He enjoyed playing PlayStation games and watching NASCAR races.
Bills love for science was profound, and he took great joy in sharing his scientific knowledge with his daughter, Allison, who was the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Bernadine Johnson; and his granny, Florence Heinzman.
Bill is survived by his parents, Tom and Gerry Beckner of Byesville; his daughter, Allison "Allie" Beckner of Pataskala and her mother, Kelly (McKay) Beckner; his brother, John "JC" Beckner of Byesville; his sister, Jessica Beckner (& Jeff Rogers) of Westerville; and his dog, Meyer Beckner. Though he is no longer with us, Bills memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Saturday (February 1, 2025) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
