William D. Beebe, 85, of
Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him.
As a boy, Bill was active in the Boy Scouts, an experience that helped shape the quiet strength, loyalty, and sense of duty that defined his life. He held a special love for his "New England" cousins and his family roots, taking great joy in preserving stories, tracing family history, and keeping connections strong across generations. Bill devoted his entire professional life to a career in banking, where he was known not only for his integrity and steady guidance, but also for the genuine care he showed to customers and colleagues alike. He believed deeply in hard work, responsibility, and providing for those he loved, and he lived those values every day. He found deep peace at the beach, happiest with his feet in the sand and the sound of the ocean nearby. At home, his beloved kitties were constant companions, offering comfort, warmth, and many tender moments.
He is survived by his devoted partner, Johnnie Wood, who brought companionship and comfort to his later years; his loving daughters, Belinda Beebe and Julie Beebe-Dawson (Eddie); his sister, Barbara; his cherished nephew and nieces; his granddaughters, Ashlee (Joel), and Amber (Emmorie); and his six treasured great-grandchildren, Rowan, Emmie, Landon, Easton, Indie, and Bella. Nothing brought Bill greater pride or joy than his family, and he delighted in watching each new generation grow.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Beebe, whose memory he carried in his heart always; his brother, Donald Beebe; his sister, Peggy Beebe; and many other cherished family members who welcomed him home.
Bill will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle heart, and unwavering devotion to family. He gave his love freely and faithfully, and his legacy lives on in the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will carry his stories - and his love - forward.
