William Alan "Bill" Berger, 78, of
Bailey, Colorado, passed away on November 26, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado due to multiple medical conditions, surrounded by loving family.
Bill was born on November 13, 1947 in
Chicago, Illinois, the son of William and Eleanor Berger. He was accompanied into the world by his twin sister, Barbara Anne Medell.
Following high school, Bill was drafted into the Army in 1968 and was stationed in Korea. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked as both a mechanic and a machinist throughout his life in both Illinois and Colorado.
Bill married Gloria Wallin in 1972. They moved to Colorado in the mid-70s and welcomed a daughter, Allana (Fitts) in 1977.
Bill enjoyed the many outdoor activities offered by Colorado. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and gun collector, and marksman, and was in his element when enjoying these hobbies.
Bill loved animals and always had a close relationship with his many canine companions throughout his life. He even tried his hand at raising ostriches in a joint venture with his parents. At the time of Bill's passing, he shared his life with his canine companion Capone.
Bill lived for many years in Arvada, Colorado, where he stayed close to and cared for his parents until their passing.
He retired as an equipment manager for Foothills Park and Recreation and then lived out his dream of moving to the mountains in
Bailey, Colorado, where he lived until his passing.
The family would like to thank his Bailey neighbors and friends for providing Bill with as much human contact and support as he would accept over the years. Bill was a fiercely independent person, and your friendship and care for him is deeply appreciated.
Remaining to cherish Bill's memory and honor his legacy are his daughter, Allana Fitts and her spouse Andrew;
