Although I don't believe I had the priviledge of meeting Mr. Betts myself, I am deeply grateful for his service to Lynchburg College as well the many other educational, civic, and religious organizations to which he contributed so generously and unselfishly. My prayers and thoughts go out to his extended family. What a giant of a man - he will be deeply missed by many.

To the Betts Family,
During my years as CEE Department Head I greatly enjoyed the many opportunities that I had to come and visit with Ping. I was always fascinated by his sharp memory and his love for his profession. He was also quite proud of his education from Virginia Tech, and we were very proud of him as well. Ping was also a Southern gentleman of the highest level - just a wonderful soul who I will miss greatly! Please know that many were greatly blessed by the opportunity to count Ping as a friend!

WOW! I just read Ping's obit - what an amazing man! His charismatic presence always awed me but I had not realized his legacy of accomplishments. I am honored to be a friend of Earle and Nicole and wish them peaceful acceptance of this great man's passing.
