William “Bill” Karl Born, 79 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Corbin, KY, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on February 1st, 2025. He was born in Hamilton, OH to Albert & Theresia Born.
Bill was a member of New Hope Ministries Church of God in Corbin, KY. He worked for many years at National Standard, where he retired. He loved basketball and had two favorite teams, The Kentucky Wildcats and whoever was playing Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He loved being with family.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death, by his loving wife Artis, of 49 years, his sisters Marlene Roach and Elizebeth Born, and his brothers Stanley Born, & Tommy Born. He is survived by his daughter Kim (Jeff) Bowling of Knoxville, TN, sons Scott (Trish) Richardson of Corbin, KY and Michael (Jenifer) Born of Knoxville, TN, one brother, Paul Born of Hamilton, OH, three sisters in laws, Linda Sizemore of London, KY, Judy Thomas of Fairfield, OH, and Debbie Sizemore of Hamilton, OH, a multitude of nieces & nephews, and one special niece Sarah “Lil’ Dummy” Cridlen of Indianapolis, IN,
One of the things that brought him the most joy was spending time with his grandkids Blake (Taylor) Bowling, Coty Richardson, Brierre (Jacob) Wasmundt, Lexi Richardson, Paige (Conner) Holland, Will Born, and his great-grandchildren, Crosby Bowling, Eli Richardson, Dempsey Holland, Vivianne Holland, and Murphy Bowling.
Pall Bearers will be Blake Bowling, Jacob Wasmundt, Aaron Sizemore, Donnie Thomas, Kelvin McQueen, Noah Thomas, and Ryan Cridlin.
Floral Tributes for William "Bill Born
The family will receive friends from 11 am-1 pm, service to follow, Tuesday, Feb 4th, 2025, at Vankirk Grisell Funeral Home with pastors Michael Addison and Paula Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, KY
