Mr. William “Bill” Roland Eagle, 81, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Winston Salem, NC, on April 14, 1944, to the late Robert Bruce Eagle, Jr. and Eva Early Eagle.
Bill was a 1962 graduate of Griffith High School before serving in the National Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant. He began his career at Southern Bell, and later became an insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha. Bill and his wife, Becky, owned and operated Anne Roland Furniture in Salisbury, NC, for the last 30 years. Bill also enjoyed working in the yard, and he and Becky alike were avid golfers.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Eagle of Charlotte, NC; and a sister, Eugenia E. Eagle.
Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his loving wife, Rebecca “Becky” Bare Eagle; a brother, Scott Eagle; his daughter, Trish (Rick) Washabaugh; his son, Chad Eagle; grandchildren, Andrew Eagle, Jordan (Aaron) Oder, and Regan (Bennett) Rutherford; and five great-grandchildren, Josie, Matilda and Penelope Oder and Cal and Nora Rutherford.
A funeral service for Bill will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, Feb 2, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or that you plant a tree in remembrance of Bill.
