DALHART, TEXAS- Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend William Earl Redman, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026 after a courageous health battle.
He was born May 3, 1951 in Dalhart, Texas to Caroll “Buck” and Dorothy “Jean” McClendon Redman.
Grandpa Bill met the love of his life in 1973. He brought her home to meet her parents on the back of his motorcycle. Bill and Christine were married in 1974. They had their first daughter Terri Lynn in late October of 1974 and their second daughter Samantha Lea in February of 1979. Bill and Chris, despite their efforts divorced in 1984 and Chris passed away in 1986 in a terrible accident. Bill never remarried.
Bill turned his focus to his career. He worked for Harold Hoge during this time, then he worked as a mechanic for Chevrolet in Dalhart, Texas. In May of 1987 he started XIT Feeders in Dalhart, Texas. He worked in maintenance and with the rollers making feed. Around 1996 he was even working with Terri his daughter at the feed lot. Bill stopped working when his health declined in February of 2025. Bill fought a long battle for health.
Grandpa Bill enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with family. He had a passion for motorcycles and loved going for rides on them. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Bill moved to Utah in January 2026 to be cared for in his final days by his oldest daughter Terri and her husband Brent. While in Utah Bill finished his days emersed in love by his grandkids and great grandkids. His final days were in his home in Helper, Utah under the care of Elevate Home Heath and Hospice with the help of Holly Horrocks a family friend.
Survived by his daughters, Terri (Brent) Buchanan, Helper; Samantha (Andrew) Porter, Dalhart, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; great grandson, Alastor Crane Evans.
Grandpa Bill will be laid to rest in Dalhart, Texas by his parents.
