William “Bill” L. Robl, age 74, of the town of Pine River, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, with his sons by his side. He was born on January 20, 1951, to the late Harold and Shirley (Van Strydonk) Robl in Wausau, WI. Bill attended and graduated from Merrill High School.
Bill worked at Graphic Packaging as a machinist for over 22 years, until his retirement.
When he was younger, he enjoyed golfing and cribbage. Bill had a passion for fishing, and would take in a fishing trip every chance he had. He also looked forward to deer hunting and going to music concerts. Bill would often go to the bar to see friends and socialize. He was very close with all 3 of his sons, spending lots of time with them and making memories. Bill is remembered as an honest and straightforward man, that was incredibly loyal, dependable, generous and strong. He will be missed dearly, but is “Gone Fishin’” with Jesus.
Bill is survived by his sons: Matt (Tanya) Robl, with her son, Joshua Otto, Kris Robl and Kyle Robl, all of Merrill, brother: Rick (Louise) Robl, with their sons, Eric and Luke, sisters: Sue and Bev, brothers: Ed and Jerry, and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Allen.
The Memorial Service for Bill will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral Home, 301 Eagle Drive, Merrill, WI, 54452. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m., until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank all of the people that loved and cared for Bill and took the time to spend with him before his death. It meant a lot to him and his family.
