William “Bill” Russell Spence Jr., the son of William and Roseleen (Gribbon) was born June 20, 1948 in Spencer, IA. His childhood years were spent in Spencer, IA, where he attended school.
Bill married Judy Strohman on March 14, 1969 in Lomoni, IA. They lived in Emmetsburg, IA where they began raising their family, until 1986 when they moved to Spencer, IA. Bill worked for the railroad for 30 years, until his retirement. Bill enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, telling jokes, making people laugh, cruising his cars, and spending time with his car friends and especially his family.
Bill passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Spencer Hospital, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Russell.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Vreeman of Spencer, IA; 3 grandchildren, Colton, (Hannah), Ashley, and Brady; one great-grandchild, Ryker; one brother, Ed (Diane) Spence of Cherokee, IA; one sister, Lucy Trierweiler of Spencer, IA; other relatives; and many friends.
