ALBANY - William "Bill" Stevens, born June 17, 1943, in Albany, N.Y., to William F. Stevens and Margaret Stevens (Wolf), passed away on February 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Bill was the beloved husband of Maureen Rainis Stevens, his childhood sweetheart and best friend. Their love story began when they were just children, growing into a devoted marriage of 61 years. Together they built a life filled with joy, dancing, and deep commitment to one another and their family.
A graduate of Vincentian Institute and SUNY Albany, Bill began his career as a teacher in the Coxsackie-Athens School District, before finding success in sales, where he formed lasting friendships through his work.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Stevens; and his children, Bill (Mindy), Kevin (Tracey), Kim (Peter) Namkoong, Scott (Lisa), and Michael (Catherina).
He was predeceased by his children, John Stevens and Jennifer (Mike) Goronsky.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brittany (Mike) Yakel, Charlie (Morgan) Stevens, Lauren (Lou Karaiskos) Namkoong, Alexis (Josh) Blaauboer, Cailyn Stevens, Michael Goronsky, Aidan Stevens, PJ, Olivia, and Ryan Namkoong, Eliza Ashe, Harper, Angela, Carmine; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Cannon Funeral Home, Colonie N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12206. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
