I met Bill several years ago through our shared work in vehicle security. I only met Bill in person three times, but he made a lasting impression on me. He spoke very fondly of his family, which I admired. He also discussed his love of fishing.

Bill and I had some spirited debates about vehicle security when we met or talked on the phone, but he always managed to laugh when we were done and give me a hard time about my stance on various issues, which I respected.

There are people you encounter in life which you regret not knowing better than you did. Bill is one of those people for me.

My condolences to all of Bill's family.

I have some great childhood memories with Bill. Playing football in his side yard with the other kids in the neighborhood. Boy Scout camping trips. Fishing at some lake up north that someone in his family had some land on. Playing basketball.
I lost track of Bill when we went to college and I moved to Chicago for 30 years. I moved back to Michigan about 5 years ago and have often thought about looking him up as I heard through Dan Devine that Bill still liked to fish and I thought it would be a great way to reconnect after all these years. After reading the obituary and some of the comments from others, I missed a great opportunity and I'm saddened by your your loss. Best wishes to Bill's family.
