Mr. William Jesse Booth Jr.

William Jesse Booth Jr., of Claymont, DE, passed away while surrounded by family on September 1, 2013 at Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Bill was born on September 30, 1943 in Chester, PA the only child to William and Helen Booth (Roberts). Bill grew up in Parkside, PA and attended Ridley Park High School. In 1965 Bill graduated from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) and immediately started his career and family. For over 40 years Bill worked in the chemical manufacturing industry starting with American Hospital Supply later known as EMDS in the late 1960's until 1985, Kramer Chemical from 1987 until 2000, and IMS Chemblend from 2001 until retirement very recently. A consummate provider, Bill was a devoted father who would do anything for his children. He loved to hear a good story and always looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family. His characteristic dry sense of humor and cantankerous behavior were prevalent into his last days. He will be sorely missed by all those who loved him. Bill is survived by his 4 children, Kathy Craft (Frank) of Mullica Hill NJ, Kary Henry of Glen Mills, PA, Jay Booth of Claymont, DE and William Booth (Casie) of Charlestown, MD; grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, Scott, Zach, Sam and Jack; and Aunt Dorothy "Scotty" Perryman (Roberts) of Boothwyn, PA. Burial services will be private In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Bill Booth. The Booth Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington for the excellent care of their father.
