William Carroll Brasher Jr. died peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Born on August 4, 1948 to William Carroll Brasher Sr. and Dorothy Compton Brasher. 
Bill and Karen married on June 29, 1985, in Nevada, Texas. Bill was a devoted husband and father. Any spare time was spent fishing, “piddling” outside, going through his card collection and talking with friends. Bill‘s most favorite pastime was spending time with Karen and his family. 
Bill was a much loved and respected teacher and coach until retiring from Mt. Vernon ISD in 2012. His impact extended beyond his professional career, touching the lives of many. 
Bill is survived by loving wife Karen, daughters Melanie Nicole York and wife Traci; Amberly Michelle Jones and husband Jeremy; Son William Clint Brasher and wife Karen. 
He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Riley Marshall, Greyson York, Emerson York, Layton Brasher and one great grandson Ryder Saunders. 
Bill is also survived by his sister Suzie Gregg and her husband Grady, brother Kenny Brasher and wife Diane, together with a host of relatives, friends, former students, and colleagues who were touched by his kindness.
Bill was proceeded in death by both parents. 
A celebration of life will be held on April 13 at 2:30 PM with visitation starting at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Texas. 
Bill will be remembered for his dedication to education, passion for sports, and most importantly his love for God, family and friends.
