William "Bill" Bregman

William (Bill) Bregman, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 02, 2023. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Tina Bregman; daughter, Lori Bregman; son, Jeff Bregman and daughter-in-law, Amy Bregman, parents of grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Mason, Aidan, and Kylie; daughter, Shannon Petersen, parent of Lyle, Capri, Sutton and Paisley; son, Brett Bregman and daughter-in-law, Kate Bregman, parents of Oliver and Elliott; daughter, Alli Cleveland and son-in-law, Justin Cleveland, parents of Emerson and Wyatt.
Bill was born on November 22, 1943 to Ethel and Sidney Bregman of Elkins Park, PA. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Gerber of Delray Beach, FL.
Bill graduated high school from Cheltenham High School. He went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in social studies from Villanova University. He then went on to obtain a Juris Doctor from Villanova University. In 1972, he co-founded Delta Paper Corporation with his father Sidney and successfully ran and grew the business until his subsequent retirement in 2015, when sons Jeff and Brett succeeded him. Following his retirement from the business, Bill was a professor of entrepreneurship at Villanova University for 15 plus years.
Bill led a vibrant life. He was an active member in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Philadelphia Chapter serving as the Chapter Chair in 1993. Bill completed the New York Marathon in 1983. He was a member of The Undine Barge Club on Boathouse Row in Philadelphia and rowed on the Schuylkill River. He was passionate about his Philadelphia sports teams and cheered on The Eagles, The Phillies, The Flyers, and his alma mater, The Villanova Wildcats Men's Basketball Team.
He loved to ski and sail. For years he kept a sailboat at Mears Marina in Annapolis, MD. Bill traveled the world for business and pleasure. He also traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Sweden, and Finland with members of his family to support The Advanta Panthers, an elite AAA youth hockey team which he founded.
Bill earned a stellar reputation as an honorable and noble businessman. He conducted himself with the highest level of ethics, honor, and integrity. His moral compass was always true north. Bill's number one rule in business is a deal Is a deal. He believed that if you made a deal with someone, you honor it no matter what.
Bill's kindness, generosity, and love were shared with so many. The true light of his life was his family, his loving wife, Tina, his 5 devoted children and 13 wonderful grandchildren. He was affectionately known by his family as Dad, Lover, Baba Bill, and WBB.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses, caregivers, and hospice workers that sat by his side and delivered exceptional care for both Bill and his wife Tina during his battle against Parkinson's. Halina, Beata, and Regina delivered exceptional care along with the fine caregivers from Bayada Hospice. They allowed Bill to have some dignity and decency until the very end.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on December 13th, 2023, at Café Aldo Lamberti in Cherry Hill, NJ from 11:45 AM – 2:45 PM. The address is 2011 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
