March 26, 1951 - September 29, 2025 St. Cloud - William "Bill" Brooks, 74, of St. Cloud, Florida, formerly of Yates City, passed away at 3:38AM, on Monday, September 29, 2025 at his residence. He was born on March 26, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Edward Brooks and Ruth (Plumer) Brooks. He married Suzie Sager on September 22, 2001, in Yates City. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Angela Wilson (David Prince) of Pekin; Edward (Kacy) Brooks of Murray, Kentucky; Sherry (Shaun) Joachim of Canton; son-in-law Trevor Renken of Farmington; stepsons, Jason (Nicole) Sager of Peoria and Dale (Jenny) Sager of Navarre, Florida; sister Karen (Terry) Kelley of Farmington; brothers Bob (Lisa) Brooks of Farmington and Ron (Jean) Brooks of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren, Olivia Renken (Dylan Kenny) and Gage Renken of Farmington; Ethan Wilson of Springfield, Grayson Wilson of Pekin; Melanie Brooks of Canton; Ayva Conway and Lola Brooks of Murray, Kentucky; Amelia Joachim and Evan Joachim of Canton; Sydney Sager of Durham, North Carolina; Jack Sager and Jake Sager of Peoria; Landon Sager and Kennedy Sager of Navarre, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and lifetime best friend/"brother-by-another mother" Jim (Cathy) Snyder of St. Cloud, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Katie Renken; son-in-law Scott Wilson; and mother-in-law Elsie Blodgett. Bill retired from SC2 in Peoria in 2014. He looked forward each year to watching the Cardinals at spring training in Jupiter, FL, with his best buddies, son Ed Brooks and brother-in-law Keith Butterfield. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services and burial will be at a later date in Yates City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
