William D. Campbell Sr.

William D. “Bill” Campbell Sr., 79, passed away March 5, 2026.

Born in Elklick Township, Penn., he was a resident of Akron. He served in the United States Army and worked at Roberts Battery Service for 20 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his “grammie” Nelda Yoder; son James A. “Tony” Campbell; mother Evelyn P. Bluebaugh; brother Jimmy R. Campbell; and infant sister Barbara Campbell. He is survived by sons Duane (Christine) Campbell, William (Tonya) Campbell Jr, Matthew (Leslie) Campbell; daughter Ashley (Richard) Berger III; grandchildren Sarah (Micah) Herndon, Joey (Alexis) Campbell, Megan (Logan) Woods, Ryan Campbell, Jake and Zack Campbell, James Campbell, Alex Campbell, Richard Berger IV, Anthony (Hannah) Berger, Quentin Berger, Riley Berger; great grandchildren Colten Herndon, Harper Herndon, Frankie Campbell, Andi Campbell, Oliver Woods; siblings Gloria Cruise, Kathy Holler, Robin (Loren) Sundheimer; and other extended family and friends.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, March 12th from 9 to 10:45am at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 10:45am with burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to aid with funeral expenses.
