William Broadus Jay Cariel Senior, age 53, passed away November 18th, 2025, at his home in Columbus, Georgia, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born January 2, 1972, at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus Georgia.

He was a loving and devoted Papa, father, and husband.

He was devotedly married to his wife of 32 years, Patty Cariel. He had two sons, Chad (Ashlyn) and William Broadus Jay Cariel Junior, and two very special young men he called his surrogate sons, Wendell (Holley) Zipperer and Andrew Meed. He had five beautiful grandbabies, Autumn Cariel, Janette Cariel, Dalton Cariel, DJ Cariel, and William Broadus Jay Cariel III.

He was preceded in death by his biological mom, Deborah Ogden, his parents Jan and Danny Cariel, his grandparents Paul and Sarah McKinnon, and his grandfather William Cody Sellers.

He was a very kind and caring man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a personality larger than Life and loved making people laugh with his amazing sense of humor. He was an incredibly special man that will be terribly missed.

His memorial service was held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at 2100 Hilton Ave. Columbus, Georgia 31906.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Kidney Association.
