to paul,teri ann, mark and john, I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I grew up behind the house in Chesterfield and have many fond memories of both your parents. I just heard of your loss from Dave Winder who was here doing some projects. As he worked, we shared anecdotes, both of us smiling and chuckling. I first met Mr. Carnes in May, 2001, when he came over, wanting to meet "the lady who bought the duplex online." What a grand sense of humor he had. It was beautiful to see someone who has values, a compass for leading his life, love and friendship for others, and a sense of humor to see him through. Never forget the thousands and thousands of people whose lives he touched. God bless you all.

I never met your father but I can tell you this - Paul Carnes is a caring and wonderful person and he must have inherrited this caring from his Dad. I live in Meadowbrook Apartments and any time I have had any issues Paul has been wonderful. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. Mr. Cranes also built a house I owned a while back and it was built with quality. I have always heard of his dedication to good quality and workmanship from many, many people in the community. What a blessing your father's life was to so many people. I cannot tell you the many times I saw him riding up and down the road while living in Indian Springs. He was good to my family and was a wonderful, kind, man. God Bless you and your family in your time of sadness.

Our prayers are with you. I did not know Mr. Carnes, but my husband always talked about him being such good friend to the Late Mr. Shoosmith and what a great friends they were. Our sympathy to all of you. May your memories overcome your sadness.

teri im lost for words , i just found out , your dad and i went back a long time he was an insperational person reminded me of caracter of henry ford one of the pioneers of ths country. if i had any problems he would listen we ate a lot of breakfast together at hardees for sure we cant live forever , my pal will be missed .

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear "Carnes Family" we are saddened to hear of your Dad's death. We are so happy that we were able to meet him and have him build us a house in Braxton. Bill, Ann, Cameron, and Claire Johnson are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Carnes was a wonderful man who was very caring, generous, and a man with true humility and kindness. He so richly deserved all that came to him during his long life. He loved family above all, and as friends, we were so blessed to know him. We still live in the house Mr. Carnes built for us in 1977. He was indeed a kind and caring man of his word, traits no longer common. He has surely left his mark on the world. May the Lord be with you and comfort you at this time.

The Hicks Family, Harold jr, Bambi, Dustin, Taylor and Trevor. We have known Mr. Carnes since Harold jr was a little boy with working relationships through Hicks Tire. We also know him through hunting. He was a great man. But he is now in a better place and thats all that matters. He will be missed by many.

My condolences go out to your whole family. Mr. Carnes was one of the finest men I have ever known. One morning in 1977, I was waiting at the bus stop in Meadowbrook Estates to go to kindergarten. Mr. Cranes drove by, stopped and said "hello" and handed me a ten dollar bill. I was so excited that I ran back to the house to tell my Mom that Mr. Carnes had just given me a lot of money and simultaneously missed the bus. He will missed by many.
