William Cline Obituary
WILLIAM (BILL) ALBERT CLINE, SR. age 92 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Thrsday Dec. 25, 2025, at The Waters in Sweetwater, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a son of the late William Clifford "Shorty" and Lena Ellison Thompson Cline, preceded in death by his wife: Rosalyn Rita Cline, Son: Robert Cline, and Brother: Charles Paul Cline. He was a truck driver for Case Enterprises. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during The Korean Conflict.
Survivors: Two Sons: Randy Cline of Tellico, Tenn., William "Billy" Cline, Jr. of Athens, Tenn., Four Daughters: Diane (James) Lumpkin of Dawsonville, Ga., Phyllis Chumber of Dahlonega, Ga Selena . Delzell of Athens, Tenn. Sherrie (Tony) Nichelson of Canton, Ga., Brother: William (Donna) Cline of Duncanville, Ala., Two Sisters: Shirley (Richard) Wallace of Niota, Tenn. Patsy (Danny) Carter of Ten Mile, Tenn.. 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 18 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in McMinn Memory Gardens with Danny Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Matt Whitney, Chris Whitney, Nicholas Cline, Billy Pilcher, Justin Lumpkin, Adam Nicholson, and Randy Glaze.
