William Maurice Clithero

William Maurice (Bill) Clithero died February 5, 2017. Bill was a resident of Albuquerque for almost 41 years and is survived by his wife, Anna Jo Clithero; his daughters Lucy Rosen of Bluffton, South Carolina, Molly Massen of Asheville, North Carolina and Amy Clithero of Albuquerque, New Mexico; stepson, Jeff Stanish of Potomac, Maryland; granddaughters Samantha and Hannah and step grandchildren Ben, Katie and Will.

Bill was a founding member of Tanoan Country Club, served as President of the N.E. Albuquerque Lions Club, served on the Board of Directors of Lovelace Medical Center and the Albuquerque Armed Forces Advisory Association.

Upon graduation from Michigan State University in 1958 he entered the insurance industry, serving in various capacities in Illinois, Minnesota and California before moving to Albuquerque in 1976.

He was a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Gold Key Club Member of the College of Life Underwriters. He was a member of the International Association of Financial Planners and a member of the Central New Mexico Association of Life Underwriters.

Bill achieved the Rank of Life Master at Bridge, a hobby that took him all over the country, playing in Bridge Tournaments. He travelled extensively in all 50 states and 65 countries. He enjoyed Bridge, Poker, Horse Racing, Sports and Reading.


Memorial Services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will be in Mazon, Illinois.
