William "Bill" N. Costas, 88
Bill Costas, affectionately, known as "Papou" to his grandchildren, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 21. from heart disease.
He was born December 22, 1936 in Youngstown, a son of the late Nicholas and Stella (Polites) Costas.
After a short stent working with his family owned business, the Twilight lounge, Bill was employed by Goulds pumps/ITT industries for over four decades. Bill was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, a Corvette enthusiast, recreational golfer, and a creative do it yourself handyman. He will be remembered by many for being the life of the various parties he attended.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Julie (Modarelli) Costas; sweethearts since grade school, they graduated from Liberty High School's class of 1955, his two sons, Stephen (Tami) Costas of Oak Park, CA, and Michael Costas of Rocky River, his sister, Helen (Peter) Asimakopoulos. He leaves five grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas, Hailey, Jack, and Julia. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Costas, and his sister, Nuly Costas Harmon.
