William Thomas "Willy" Cottrell

William "Willy" Thomas Cottrell, Jr. 62, of Harrisburg, NC, peacefully passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill, NC.
Willy was born on November 12, 1959 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to the late William Thomas Cottrell Sr. and Virginia Arlene Brown Cottrell.
He was preceded in death by his father William Sr., in 1993.
Willy was a devote member of the New Apostolic Church where throughout various times in his life served as Deacon, Choir Leader and Sunday School teacher. Willy additionally had a passion for flower arranging. Whatever Willy engaged in, he always wanted to make it special for others' enjoyment.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am -10:45 am on July 9th, 2022, at the New Apostolic Church 2535 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC. The funeral service will be on July 9th, 2022 at the New Apostolic Church 2535 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC at 11:00am, officiated by Priest Joshua Lindstedt. Burial will be conducted in the privacy of the family.
Survivors include mother, Virginia Arlene Brown Cottrell of Harrisburg, NC, brothers, Steven Cottrell (wife Leah) of Harrisburg, NC, Ted Cottrell (wife Cindy) of Timberlake, NC and sister, Kelly of South River, NJ. In addition, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and one great nephew were also a large part of his life.
Donations may be made to the New Apostolic Church.
