William Curnutte Obituary
William Everett "Bill" Curnutte
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, William Everett "Bill" Curnutte, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather left this world suddenly and peacefully at the age of 68 to be with his Lord and Savior.
Bill was born January 5, 1953 in Kingsville, Texas, the second oldest of four children to Charles William and Lily Elizabeth Curnutte. He worked as a machinist for Coastal Plating Company in Corpus Christi for over 30 years before retiring and relocating to the Lexington area in 2013. Bill married Judy at the First United Methodist Church in Hondo, Texas on March 22, 1980 and they enjoyed 41 beautiful years together. Bill was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and was baptized at Travis Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. Currently, Bill and Judy have been active members of Lexington United Methodist Church, where he loved to sing in the choir. He was quick with a funny story, joke, and a smile. He loved to laugh, his humor was contagious, and he was a great listener. Anytime someone needed help, he was ready to serve with his time, gifts, and talents. Bill enjoyed sailing, skiing, camping in his RV, and traveling with Judy. He could play a trumpet and run a pool table. Bill was a special kind of "PawPaw". He crafted toys out of wood and gave fun presents that he knew would make his grandkids laugh. Bill could draw any picture and create any shape of pancakes his grandchildren requested, especially dinosaurs. He was a talented cook who especially loved making recipes he remembered from his childhood. Bill was a brilliant craftsman and spent many hours in his shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Georgie Arenaz and her husband Jonathan and their children Sophia and Travis; son, Barret Curnutte and his wife Ellen and their sons Noble, Shiloh, Canon, and River; son, Everett Curnutte and his children Layla and Aiden; sister, Susie Storey and her husband Kirk and their sons Buster and JJ; sister, Kathy Sangster; brother, Charlie Curnutte; brother-in-law, Gary Gerbig and his children Greg Gerbig and Paula Jo Zunker; favorite mother-in-law, Yvonne Mason (Baba); Uncle Ray and Aunt Ida Curnutte; shop kitty Nikki, and many wonderful extended family and friends.
Beloved by all who knew him, everyone looked forward to seeing his smile. He will be greatly missed. Bill is now in Heaven telling his favorite jokes. You are invited to celebrate his life at the Memorial Service and an Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Lexington United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, Bill's family has requested that donations be made to the Lexington United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in his name.
