Lee Funeral Home - OwingsWilliam Francis Davey, Jr., beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on May 5, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Bill lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and compassion. Bill was known for his generous spirit, calm demeanor, and kind heart. Everyone who knew Bill loved him. He enjoyed the friendships he built while working at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections and the Capital Centre/Verizon Center. A devoted sports fan, Bill followed the University of Maryland and Washington teams with enthusiasm. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter Melissa Landini (Rob); son Mark (Laura); grandchildren Graham, Reese, Ryan, Banks, and Brinley; brothers John (Ann) and Tom (Nadia); and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rita and F. Michael Grisetti, who will forever hold Bill’s memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Francis Davey, Sr. and Gertrude Davey, and his in-laws, Joseph and Ann Cavacini. He is also remembered with love by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A memorial service to honor Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to DeMatha Catholic High School and Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington. Bill's legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
