William "David" Braswell, age 59, of Ponce de Leon, Florida, passed from this life into the next on Thursday March 19, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. David was born on April 22, 1966 in Gainesville, Florida to the late George K. "Bill"and Florence Marie Braswell. David grew up in Chiefland, Florida and spent most of his life in and around the area.
He was a lover of food and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends as well as making people laugh and talking about the word of the Lord.
He was a craftsman who could build almost anything, from woodworking on a classy piece of furniture to putting a car back together from mere parts, David was a gifted man who would use his talents to help others who were around him. It's often said you find out who your friends are when you need them the most and David was a friend you could count on.
Although he helped others, he knew that making sure his relationship with God was of most importance and so the one thing he worked on until the end was that relationship, and that is why we can be sure he's resting in the arms of Jesus. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Marie, paternal grandparents: Maxwell "Mac" and Susie Braswell, maternal grandparents: Artie and Mattie Lee Hodge, and his sister, Rebecca Braswell.
He is survived by his brothers: Michael, Dennis and Jeffery Braswell and his sisters: Mandy (Frankie)Gulbronson and Deana (Jonathan)Pitts. He is also survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Graveside service will be held at Antioch Cemetery in Chiefland, Florida on Friday, March 27, 2026 beginning at 3:00pm.
