Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bedford Funeral Home - Boston Globe on Dec. 15, 2025.
On December 13, 2025, William "Bill" Hileary Davis went to sleep in death surrounded by his family. Bill was born on July 20, 1948. He was raised by his grandparents Hileary and Callie Carter Davis along with his sister Alice.

He was a graduate of Susie G. Gibson High School in Bedford, Virginia and a member of the United States Air Force.

Bill retired from Georgia-Pacific Corporation on April 1, 2013 with forty-one years of service. While working at Georgia-Pacific he was a member of the 1013 Local Union where he served as President for a number of years.

He also was Past-Master of the Masonic Lodge #316 in Big Island, Virginia. He had a strong sense of giving back to his community. Bill enjoyed volunteering for Bedford Ride transporting the sick and elderly to doctor appointments.

He was an AVID Dallas Cowboys and North Carolina Tar Heels fan.

Bill was a loving husband and father that will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife Carol H. Davis of fifty-five years of marriage, his son Eric L. Davis, sisters and brothers, Alice D. " A Glimpse Into The Life of William "Bill" Davis"

This is about William "Bill" Davis

Where do we start…

He was such a people, people person

With a lot of people he played a pivotal part.

Union President of Georgia-Pacific

Past Master of Big Island Lodge

Even helped with Bedford Ride.

Everyone who knew him, finds this as no surprise.

Leadership was his forte

That was a role Bill was willing to play.

For relaxation he enjoyed his Koi Fish Pond

He would show his friends his creation

And they would respond.

He had TV programs, he and Carol would watch

Hanging out in the Sunroom was their spot.

These are just a few things Bill enjoyed.

If we would take more time we could explore much more.

To Carol, Eric & Family. I'm so sorry to hear of your lost. I worked with Bill and he was a great person to work with. Any time that I would Carol and Bill out and about we would always stop and we didn't have short conversations, we talked for a while. I will miss seeing Bill.
