William Dawes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations from Dec. 29, 2025 to Jan. 6, 2026.
William "Keith" Dawes, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. He was born

on October 25, 1954.

Keith was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Dawes, and his

brother-in-law, "Shorty" Harris III.

He leaves to cherish his memory his only son, Robert Keith Dawes, and his girlfriend, Paula

Cooper. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Grayson Marlene Dawes and Robert

Dylan Dawes, who brought him great joy.

Keith is also survived by his brothers, Richard Glenn Dawes and Gene Dawes (Debbie); his

sister, Millie Harris (Shorty); and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his

steady presence and kind heart.

Keith retired from CSX Railroad after 35 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he treasured

the simple routines that meant the most to him-especially his Saturday mornings spent with his

brother Glenn, enjoying breakfast at Waffle House followed by a trip to the 301 Flea Market

Sale. These moments were among his favorites.

At home, Keith could often be found relaxing and watching his beloved television western,

"Gunsmoke," which he faithfully enjoyed every day.

Keith will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, and his

appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved

him.
