William Dews Obituary
When he was a toddler, William moved to be with his grandma, Margaret Edwards. She raised him to be the man we all knew and loved.
William would go on to get his education through the Wilmington Public Educational System. He was a graduated from A. I. Dupont High School. After he received his formal education, William went on to become a general contractor/carpenter and also worked many other jobs.
William was known as "Buck the Mechanic/Handyman", "Will", "Bill", and most affectionately Dad.
William was the father of nine children. The first is William "Boo" Dews, Jr., then quickly came the rest; Quincy "Qlassick" Dews, Mark Dews, Thomas Dews, Ebony Hayman-Brown, Kashira Hamilton, Tysheka Johnson, Jonathan Yancey, and Tymir Word.
William is survived by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Edwards; his mother, Mary Dews-Hall; sister, Anne Davis; his nine children; and a host of grandchildren.
