William Robert "Bill" Dodson Jr.

William Robert (Bill) Dodson Jr., 88, of Shalimar, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, and was surrounded by family.

He was born on September 23,1937 to predeceased parents William Robert Dodson Sr. and Mary in Philadelphia, PA. He was number four of six children.

He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Sonny, Rosetta (Det), Mary (Smash), Julius and John.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma A. Dodson and his children William Dodson III, Luciano Dodson (Liz), Genine Boyer (Bernard) and Indiana Dodson. He has left behind 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Moore (Andy), Crystal Youngblood, Roy (LB) Boyer III, Alex Dodson, Nicholas Dodson, David Dodson, Matthew Brian, Ashley Dodson and Sarah Dodson. Great Grandchildren, Makiyah Wilson, Andrew Moore and Clay Moore. In addition, he has many nieces and nephews that have communicated with him throughout the years.

Bill was enthusiastic about his love for family, fishing, sailing on his boat(s) which includes many years with the Fort Walton Beach Power Squadron, gardening, traveling, going on cruises and anything that had to do with electronics.

He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne first as a very young man and moved on to serve the U.S. Air Force and retire in 1977 at Eglin AFB, Florida. His next career was working in the Electronic Manufacturing business for about 15 years, and then he began his own business as a Marine Electrician several years later with his son Luciano in Florida.

A Memorial service will be conducted on October 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Emerald Coast Funeral Home 161 Racetrack Rd, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
