William Edward "Ed, Eddie" Eaves, 79, of
Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Life Care of Ooltewah, following a lengthy illness resulting from a fall.
Born November 15, 1945, in Chattanooga to Clyde and Mary Louise Turner, Ed grew up in East Ridge, Tennessee. He was a graduate of East Ridge High School, where he was a standout on the baseball team, playing first base. His talent on the field led him to play at Hiwassee College in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He later earned a business degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Ed began bowling at Holiday Bowl in Chattanooga at the age of 16 and quickly gained a reputation for his skill. He was recognized by the Chattanooga Times sports editor as one of the city's elite bowlers for many years. At age 27, he proudly bowled a 700 series - a long-awaited and hard-earned accomplishment.
He was the owner and operator of Sanders Associates for over 20 years, where he was known for his professionalism, honesty, and dedication to his clients. He built strong relationships throughout his career and was deeply respected in the community.
A man of faith, Ed was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Open-Door Sunday School Class since 2014. He cherished his church family and found strength through his faith.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Louise Turner; his daughter, Tiphanie Grimes; his sisters, Betty Harris and Helen Wilson; and his daughter-in-law, Terri Eaves.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Martha Wood Eaves; son, David Eaves; stepsons, Patrick Henderson (Aimee) and Mark Henderson (Jennifer); stepdaughter, Melissa Barajas; and son-in-law, Terry Grimes. He was a proud grandfather to DJ Eaves (Madisyn), Shannon Eaves, Connor and Abby Grimes, Emily, Cameron, and Damon Barajas, Elizabeth and Jonathan Henderson, and Hyker Henderson, and great-granddaughter Paisley Eaves.
He also leaves behind his lifelong friend, Keirl King, and his nephew, Johnny Wilson (Mary), both of whom held a special place in his heart.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Hearth Hospice Care and Ed's dedicated care team at Life Care of Ooltewah for their compassion and support.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, with Dr. Barry Wood and Mark Henderson officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Open Door Sunday School Class Benevolence Fund, c/o Ridgedale Baptist Church.
