William Jefferson "Bill" Edwards Jr

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Jefferson Edwards Jr., who departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on October 13, 1936, in Dalton, GA, Bill was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.
A resident of Dalton, GA, Bill spent his life as an esteemed member of his community. He dedicated many years of his career to J&J Industries as a Tufted Supervisor, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment.
Bill was a man of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly golfing and bowling. His warm smile and sense of humor were a constant comfort to those around him. Bill's devotion to his family was unmatched, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and unity.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia "Sue" Edwards, with whom he shared 69 incredible years of marriage. Together, they would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on December 21st. He is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne & Debbie Edwards, Jeff & Shelley Edwards, and Brandon Edwards; his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela & Scott Hosier, all of Dalton. His memory lives on in his cherished grandchildren, David & Jocelyn Edwards, Tina & Jordan Williams, Andrea Wiley, Austin Hosier, and Ayden Hosier, David Hosier as well as his treasured great-grandchildren, Ansley Williams, Tucker Williams, Mason Williams, Jr Summey, Rose Wiley, and Avery Edwards. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Jefferson Edwards Sr. and Ollie Edwards, his sister, Elizabeth Shook, and his brothers, Clayton, Jimmy, Joe, and Alton.
A celebration of Bill's remarkable life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bret Yaeger officiated. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest in the presence of his family and friends. A visitation will take place, Thursday, November13, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. til 9:00 p.m.
