Margaret Ellen Tully

Margaret Ellen Tully, 86, of Hartford passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Born in 1939 to the late Harold and Mary (Hourahan) Tully. She worked as an administrative assistant to the executives at Dunham Bush retiring after 48 yrs. She was a twenty year volunteer at the Children's hospital (CCMC) in Hartford.
Margaret loved to travel and travelled extensively in the US and Europe. She even got to stand on the street in Ireland where her mother was born. She loved the annual day at the Big E with her mother, aunt, and sisters. She loved her niece and nephews and was very proud of their achievements. She often took them to events at the Bushnell, museums and sporting events, she was a proud member of "The Aunts" to her grand nephew and nieces; she loved watching them grow and celebrated their accomplishments. She was the loving "house staff" to her beloved cat, Abby.
Margaret leaves behind her sister, Eileen Matthews of Newington and her son Patrick Tully (Savannah) of Bristol, a niece Kristine (Lee) Sirotnak of Burlington and their children, Kyle of Burlington and Nicole of New Jersey, a nephew Bryan (Jessica) Szewc of East Haven and their daughters Alicia of AZ and Emma of East Haven. She was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Szewc and M. Christine Tully and a beloved nephew, Jim Delude.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will directly follow at Saint Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Margaret will be laid to rest at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield.
